I was first made aware of this film last year by a friend of mine. I finally got to check it out after hearing nothing but good things and I gota say it lives up to the hype. From start to finish this is a thrill ride full of blood, guts and psychedelics. The visuals have a grind-house feel to them with a heavy handed touch of a bad acid trip. There is definitely a David Lynch feel to this film with the other worldly dream like sequences. I was also really impressed with the practical effects used in this film. The gore is over the top and really well done. There is a shotgun scene in this film that would make Tom Savini smile. The lead actress Victoria Donofrio really steals the show with her rampage of bloody vengeance that can’t and won’t be stopped. So to sum everything up if you are looking for a killer revenge film with a grinding psychedelic feel then this one is definitely for you. I give The Theta Girl a strong 8/10.
